Compulsion, a feature length drama, was commissioned by ITV in the UK.

Parminder stars alongside celebrated British actor Ray Winstone in a tale of obsession and exploitation, based on a Jacobean tragedy, but set in London in the present day. The production had its British TV premiere on Bank Holiday Monday (May 4th 2009)

The story

Anjika (Parminder) the daughter of  wealthy Indian businessman Satvik, has just graduated from Cambridge University. Her student friends include Alex, a young man with whom she has formed a relationship while living away studying. Satvik intends that his only daughter should consider marriage to Hardik, the successful son of a business associate. Anjika has other ideas and seeks a solution that will enable her to follow her own path without alienating her family.

The opportunity to resolve her dilemma manifests in the unlikely form of Don Flowers (Ray Winstone), who is employed as Satvik's chauffer. Though no fan of her fathers 'bag man', Anjika is tempted by his unexpected offer to assist her in escaping from an arranged marriage. She is, however, repulsed to learn that his services come at a heavy price - she must spend the night with him.

The DVD release carries a 15 certificate, recognition of the fact that the production contains scenes of a fairly explicit sexual nature and some, though infrequent, strong language.

British Writer / Director Gary Sinyor's surreal comedy centers on Albert Ross, a disillusioned dentist with the stepmother from hell and a list of lofty ambitions for his life that have not been realized. His monotonous existence undergoes a dramatic change when after an accident he appears to have acquired a bizarre ability -whatever he dreams comes true.

While considering ways of exploiting his new gift, Albert meets sexy bombshell Olivia (Elize Du Toit) and dreams that she starts an outrageous affair with him. The next day, true to his dream, she seduces him and before he knows it, he's romantically involved with not one but two gorgeous women, Olivia and his dental nurse (played by Parminder). Albert's hedonistic enjoyment of his new life is shaken when one night he dreams that his stepmother is going to suffer a sudden death at the hands of a murderer!

Released on April 14th 2009 in Region 1 format and February 16th 2009 in

The final season finds the regulars mourning the loss of one of their own.

Neela considers and re-evaluates her career at County General, despite a growing reputation as a star surgeon in the making. Despite an initially stormy relationship, she has succumbed to the charms of Aussie Lothario and new ER attending Simon Brenner. The return of a face from the past resurrects some emotional conflicts and prompts feelings of missed opportunities.

The final season delivers on all levels for long time fans of the show. An array of cameo returns from some of the legends of the ER, and resolutions of some story arcs developed in some cases over a number of years.

Parminder was pregnant throughout the filming of much of this season, a fact that is disguised in later episodes by the selective choice of camera angles and occasionally the discrete carrying of patient's notes!
Despite this, Mindi features significantly in all but the final two episodes, in which she is seen only briefly by video link.

Released on September 21st 2009 in Region 2 format.

Please note that these discs will only play on region 2 or PAL compatible multi-region players.

Season 14 opens with Neela's life in jeopardy after been trampled at an anti war demonstration. Surviving this ordeal she recuperates while taking temporary residence at Abby's apartment.

Returning to work and disenchanted by her romantic entanglements of the previous twelve months, Neela is instead preoccupied with her latest charge, the brilliant but socially inept surgical student Harold Zelinski. The geeky but affable teenage prodigy seeks not only professional guidance but some lessons in life from his mentor.

This season provides more comic relief and frivolous moments for Parminder's character than some of those that preceded it.
The box set includes all 19 episodes, the season being slightly shortened by the WGA industrial action which resulted in weeks lost from the filming schedule.
Released on May 18th 2009 in Region 2 format.

Please note that these discs will only play on region 2 or PAL compatible multi-region players.

The first project for which Parminder has provided the voice of a character in an animated feature. She supplies the vocal chords for Cassandra, a 'mystical Indian woman' who coaches a young Bruce Wayne in ancient methods of pain management.

The movie is split into six loosely linked episodes, each directed by highly respected exponents of the 'Anime' style. Parminder's character appears in the fifth segment, 'Working through Pain'.
Fans of the 'Dark Knight' and the anime style should enjoy this, but even those who are indifferent to the genre can marvel at the craft and artistry with which the city-scapes and panoramic backgrounds are realized.

Gotham Knight was released to the US market in region 1 DVD/Blu Ray format on July 8th 2008 as a single disc package or a two disc DVD special edition.
A Region 2 release for the European market followed on July 14th.

Please note that these discs will only play on region 2 or PAL compatible multi-region players.

 Ella Enchanted

A fairy-tale adventure in which the eponymous heroine falls victim to a curse which compels her to do everything she is asked, regardless of the source of the request.
Parminder plays best friend to Anne Hathaway's Ella, though for Mindi fans her limited amount of screen time will be a disappointment. Still, good family entertainment and 'our gal does get to participate in the all singing, all dancing finale.

A successful theatrical release preceded the DVD set which is widely available in multiple regional formats.

Second Generation

Despite sharing with 'Bend It Like Beckham' the themes of struggling to find expression and identity outside of the constraints of a traditional family background, Second Generation provided Parminder with an ideal vehicle to shed the 'pony tailed teenager image' for a more mature and hard edged role.

A complex and layered TV drama driven by themes and language of a significantly more adult nature, the production was originally aired in two parts on Channel Four in the UK on September 14th and 15th 2003.

Mindi portrays Heere Sharma, the youngest of three daughters whose ailing father (Om Puri) has ostracised her from the family for pursuing a relationship with white music journalist Jack (Danny Dyer).

The plotline has echoes of Shakespeare's King Lear as Heere becomes aware that her apparently dutiful elder siblings are secretly conspiring against their father in an attempt to take control of his business.

Fire up your multi-region player as the DVD version is only available in Region One format, but is a must see for Mindi fans.

Parminder's first 'post Beckham' project, a contemporary telling of Shakespeare's complex tale of love, jealousy and confused identity broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK on March 5th 2003.
A strong and eclectic cast drawn from British TV and theatre and an original and visually arresting staging brought plaudits from both connoisseurs of 'The Bard' and the wider audience. Though Mindi had worked extensively in London and provincial theatre, this represents her first foray into the world of England's greatest playwright. The IMBD forum for this production gives a flavour of the overwhelmingly positive reaction with a number of commentators moved to single out Parminder's performance as Viola for particular praise.

Twelfth Night was released in Region 2 DVD format by Channel 4 as part of a package intended as an educational resource for drama and media students.
The two disc set features the complete play plus a four part documentary detailing the film's production process. The second disc includes interviews with cast members and the production team, including contributions from Parminder. It provides a fascinating insight into the whole process of TV production.
The package is still available from the Channel 4 shop, albeit with a rather hefty £32.90 asking price.

A Region One version of this film can be purchased as part of a two disc package which includes a production of 'Macbeth', another fine Shakespearian commission for Channel 4.
